HORSES IN TRAINING

Meet the horses currently in training with David Dennis Racing.

BALLYNAHEER
2019
SEX: Gelding
Breeding: by Mahler out of Ballynagall

Owner: Mr David Purvis

Ballynaheer was purchased from the Goffs UK Spring Sale at Doncaster in 2023. A scopey, chasing type, he first caught the eye when finishing second in a maiden point-to-point at Edgcote in April of that year.
He lost his maiden tag in impressive style at Huntingdon on 1 April 2024, making all and jumping fluently under Tom Bellamy to win comfortably by seven lengths — a memorable day for first-time owner David Purvis.
Sent chasing in the autumn of 2024, Ballynaheer produced solid efforts with placings at both Uttoxeter and Wincanton. A confidence-denting run at Hereford briefly set him back, but he benefitted from a confidence-boosting spin over the brush hurdles at Worcester in the summer.

He then made all to win by 14 lengths, again his fluent jumping at Fontwell in September 2025. Subsequently he runner-up at Fontwell and Hereford were followed by two more victories at Warwick and Plumpton, where he once again jumped accurately and travelled strongly.
A scopey, sound jumper who stays well, Ballynaheer is a likeable and progressive horse who should continue to win races over fences.

GEORGIE'S LADY
2022
SEX: Filly
Breeding: By Order of St George out of A Good Year

Owner: David Dennis

Georgie.jpg

This attractive four-year-old filly was sourced from the Goffs Arkle sale in June 2025 as an unbroken store.  Her sire, Order Of St George, has been siring plenty of winners as a National Hunt Sire.  Her dam, A Good Year is an Own sister to Grade 2 Cheltenham Festival winner Noble Prince.

She made her racecourse debut at Hereford on Easter Monday where she will have learnt plenty and showed a good attitude.  We look forward to getting her schooled and aiming her for fillies and mares’ races, of which there are plenty in the National Hunt fixture list.

MILITARY SAINT
2020
SEX: Gelding
Breeding: by Order Of St George out of A Good Year

Owner: Dr Tom Davies and 50% For sale

Military Saint.jpg

We are delighted to welcome Military Saint to the yard at David Dennis Racing following his recent purchase from the Doncaster Spring Horses-In-Training May Sale.

A fine-looking 6-year-old gelding by Order Of St George, Military Saint stands around 16.3hh and looks an exciting prospect for the future. He has already shown plenty of ability in Ireland, having run six times in Irish Maiden Point-to-Points, winning impressively on his final start at Ballysteen in April under champion point-to-point jockey Derek O'Connor.

We hope he will continue to develop into a smart chaser in time, and we are very much looking forward to having him in the string here at Edgcote.
A 50% share is now available for sale.
