HORSES IN TRAINING

Meet the horses currently in training with David Dennis Racing.

GASMANI

2019

SEX: Gelding

Breeding: By Getaway out of Tasmani

Owner: Hardwick, Wright, Richmond

This promising gelding, a half-brother to our very own Cyclop and Innisfree Lad, was purchased as a store at the Goffs Land Rover Sale in June 2022. A striking son of Getaway, he shares many of the same qualities as his accomplished siblings.

He made his debut over obstacles in a maiden point-to-point at Larkhill in December 2023, where he overcame a tendency to jump left on a right-handed track to win impressively by 15 lengths—an impressive performance for a four-year-old.

He won a bumper by a neck in March 2024 at Newcastle showing a good attitude.

Last season, he was placed in all four of his starts over hurdles, underlining both his consistency and potential. He was back after a setback in the December with a comfortable win over hurdles at Taunton under jockey Charlie Maggs winning by 6 lengths.  We very much look forward to sending him chasing where his future undoubtbly lies.

HARTHILL

2018

SEX: Mare

Breeding: by Walk In The Park out of Queen Isabella

Owner: Mrs Emma Stewart

Harthill is an attractive and well-made mare by the hugely popular National Hunt sire Walk In The Park. She was purchased as a store at the Derby Sale at Fairyhouse in June 2021.

She gained valuable experience with three runs in National Hunt Flat races (bumpers), and her fourth-place finish on soft ground at Chepstow showcased both her ability and her liking for testing conditions.

Harthill lost her maiden tag at Stratford in November 2023 with a convincing victory in a soft-ground handicap hurdle, quickening smartly to beat stablemate Libor Lad—securing a memorable first-ever one-two for the yard. Remarkably, she returned at a starting price of 50/1 that day!

Unfortunately, she was sidelined for the remainder of that season and missed the following one as well. However, Harthill is set to return to full training later this year, and we’re excited to see her back on the track. With her size, scope, and pedigree, we hope she can develop into a smart chaser in time.

IMPERIAL PRIDE
2016
SEX: Mare
Breeding: by Imperial Monarch out of Alderbrook Girl

Owner: The David Dennis Racing Club

imperial pride_edited.jpg

Imperial Pride was placed over hurdles and fences before unfortunately missing the remainder of 2023 season due to a tendon injury.  Given she was still a maiden, she was sent point to pointing with Ollie Bowd where she excelled in the spring of 2024.  She was second on debut at Brockelsby in February before winning three times at Cothelstone, Dingley and Chaddesley Corbett.  Her target for the season was to run in the Jockey Mares Maiden Final which was rescheduled from Woodford in April to Chaddesley Corbett in May.

An extremely good jumper who has an excellent attitude and is a pleasure to train.  Hopefully she will give the David Dennis Racing Club plenty of days out at the races in the future.
