David Dennis Racing had another fantastic day yesterday (Tuesday 21st April) with an across the card double at Ludlow and Kempton.
We had four runners in total which culminated in two winners and two seconds.
Set The Trend, ridden by Noel Fehily for owners Corbett Stud was the first runner of the afternoon in the opener at Ludlow. The 9yo stalked the rest of the field before easily taking up the running two from home and bounding clear to win the Family Day On 10th May Novices’ Hurdle making this his second course and distance win in a month.
The second runner of the day was the consistent Marju’s Quest who had made the journey to Exeter for the Exeter Interactive Handicap Hurdle.
Having blazed a trail for much of the race under Aidan Coleman, the 5yo Marju gelding was collared after the last to go down by only 3 1/4 lengths and ran a pleasing race in defeat.
There was a change of code for our third runner of the day as My Mo lined up in the Velux Company Handicap over 1 m at Kempton.
The 3yo Silver Frost gelding deserved to get his head in front under Fergus Sweeney having been running so consistently and was losing his maiden tag in the process whilst providing the yard with the second leg of the double.
Hawdyerwheesht was our final runner of the day when finishing 2nd in the Sally Gittens Belated 21st Birthday Novices’ Handicap Hurdle.
The 7yo gelding by Librettist has been knocking on the door in his runs so far this Spring so we are hoping he can go one better very soon.
