Summer Success

Posted on 17th July 2015

The Summer campaign continues in earnest here at David Dennis Racing.

The horses are all running really well with wins from Hawdyerwheesht & Danecase within the last two weeks as well as plenty of placings.

Hawdyerwheesht broke his long spell of placed efforts with a convincing win at Worcester last Monday (6th July) when partnered by Noel Fehily to land the Latimer Court Care Home Handicap Hurdle by a cosy 8 lengths. The 7yo went on to run another blinder at the same track just nine days later (15th July) but was unlucky to revert back to bridesmaid status finishing 2nd to At First Light going down by only a length giving a hefty 13lb away to the winner.

Dylan’s Storm was another to be narrowly denied the top spot at Chepstow on Thursday (16th July) when finishing 3rd under Fergus Sweeney beaten only a short head & a neck!

Danecase has provided the yard with our second 2yo winner of the season when landing the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden Stakes today (17th July). The son of Showcasing was in rear early over the 6f trip but ran out a ready winner in the end under Martin Lane at a massive 20-1.

We have a busy couple of days in store this weekend (18th & 19th July) with four runners on Saturday and a further two on Sunday.

On Saturday, Retro Valley makes his hurdling debut at Market Rasen (1.45) and is accompanied to the Lincolnshire track by Marju’s Quest (2.20) & Roman Flight (2.55) whilst Dylan’s Storm heads North to Haydock for the 8.55.

Sunday sees our two runners staying local with a trip to Stratford for Footstepsintherain (3.50) & Maller Tree (4.20).
