Stepping Up A Gear

It’s that time of year again where expectation and anticipation fill’s the yard ahead of an Autumn & Winter National Hunt campaign.
A lot of the horses that have been enjoying a well earned Summer break here in the Worcestershire countryside have been back in work a few weeks now and the majority of them are all cantering away well.
It’s always an exciting time of year as you see how the horses have filled out and matured throughout the Summer months and it’s time to begin planning their work regimes towards a long term Winter goal.
Just a few names that have returned to training that we hope will continue to progress from last season are The Big Dipper, who has already had one run at Worcester last week and ran well to be 3rd, Wade Harper, a half brother to Cole Harden, who won a bumper nicely at Market Rasen back in March and Final Nudge who won a bumper & finished 4th twice in Listed National Hunt flat events throughout the Winter months. There are plenty of other lovely horses that are now beginning to have their workload increased such as Cyclop, Lucky Jim, Set The Trend, Norse Light & Ballybough Pat to name but a few as well as lots of exciting new recruits and youngsters that are new to the yard.
Our yard here at Tyre Hill will have as many horses as we have ever had and we are very much looking to the season beginning in earnest as there a lot of really nice horses to look forward to running and it would be fantastic to overtake last years tally of 32 winners.
We are hopeful that there are a lot of exciting times ahead!
