Seeing Double

Posted on 14th May 2015

Yesterday (Wednesday 13th May) saw Ballybough Pat & Retro Valley perform an across the card double under both codes at Kempton & Bath.

Ballybough Pat was the first of 4 runners on the day and landed the New Racing UK iPad App Handicap Chase at Kempton under Aidan Coleman for Favourites Racing.

The Waky Nao gelding had run well last time out when 2nd at Chepstow but in very different ground conditions. However the good ground was no matter for the 8yo as he jumped superbly throughout to make all of the running and land the spoils under top weight giving away a hefty 12lb to his nearest rival.

We then had a further three runners, this time switching codes to the flat where The Alamo & My Mo both ran creditably to finish 4th under Fergus Sweeney.

Sweeney remained on board for our last runner of the day which saw him steering Retro Valley to victory in the Premier Conservatory Roofs Guardian Warm Roof Handicap.

Having settled the Vale Of York 3yo early on in the race, he was in command entering the final furlong and stayed on well to win by 2 1/2 lengths.
