National Hunt Season Preview

Posted on 24th October 2019

The National Hunt season proper is under way now as Autumn is well & truly with us & with the summer horses having the last of their runs only makes way for the winter horses to begin their campaigns.

One of the summer horses that has been running well all throughout the spring & summer is Kingfast who having won three times on the flat already this season will be having just his second start over hurdles tomorrow (Friday 25th October) at Cheltenham’s opening meeting. Kingfast made a very pleasing debut over obstacles at Worcester in September finishing 2nd & will surely excel in this sphere as he continues to gain experience & we look forward to seeing him in action tomorrow.

Flying Verse is another that has been running well all summer winning twice over fences relishing the switch to the larger obstacles & will have a winter break now until the new year.

Horses that have made their seasonal debut so far over hurdles include Dontcounturchikens, Veiled Secret, Hahadi & Avoid De Master who have all run pleasingly.

Dontcounturchikens was running a nice run back at Exeter in October before suffering an unfortunate fall at the final flight.  Likewise Veiled Secret also ran very pleasingly at the same meeting finishing 2nd having not had the clearest of runs & ran another nice race next time out at Uttoxeter later the same month.

Hahadi & Avoid De Master both made their seasonal debut runs at Hereford with both horses running well. Hahadi finished 8th & will be seen over fences before too long where he is sure to excel whilst Avoid De Master finished a nice 3rd on his hurdling debut & we now look forward to both horses progressing throughout the season.

There are plenty of other horses waiting in the wings to make their seasonal debuts with the likes of Cyclop, Innisfree Lad, Indy Five, Just so Cool, Nightboattoclyro & Zee Man all waiting on the ground to ease further.
