Make Good Comes Good
Posted on 17th July 2019
We sent two runners out yesterday (Tuesday 16th July 2019) under each code with Shanty Town & Make Good both out representing the David Dennis stable.
It was Shanty Town who was first out as he lined up in the Rotary Foundation End Polio Handicap Chase at Southwell for his owner Mrs Emma Stewart. This was Shanty Town’s first run back in over twelve months following a spell on the sidelines & we were very pleased with his effort to finish 4th under jockey Gavin Sheehan.

Shanty Town displayed his usual zest for jumping chase fences & was prominent for a long way in the race. A winner over fences at Market Rasen in March 2018, Shanty Town will undoubtedly be giving his owner lots more fun as we head towards the autumn & winter National Hunt season & we look forward to watching him build on that first run back.
Our second runner of the evening was Make Good for his owners Clan McNeil as he came under orders in the MansionBet’s Best Odds Guaranteed Handicap at Nottingham. Make Good was a previous winner back in July 2017 over 6f & had been knocking on the door, running with great consistency all throughout last season.

This was Make Good’s first start over 1m6f, a full mile further than his previous victory & a trip that he appeared to relish under a very positive ride from Cieren Fallon giving the talented young jockey a treble at the meeting. Prominent throughout the race, Make Good got an ideal position on the rail early on before being ridden to lead over 3f from home & taking the honors by an official 2 3/4 lengths. We now look forward to finding some further winning opportunities for this game little horse in the coming weeks.
