Innisfree Lad back in the Winner’s Enclosure
Posted on 19th January 2022
Innisfree Lad might have reached a veteran age of 10 years old but, on Wednesday, at Plumpton, he showed he retains plenty of ability when winning by an eased down 10 lengths under the current tallest jockey in the weighing room, Jack Andrews, standing at 6’4″. Innisfree was winning for the 7th time in his career, sporting a first time visor, after losing some confidence in competitive handicap chases so far this season. The visor had the desired effect as he was straight into stride over the first fence both traveling and jumping well throughout the extended 3m1f chase. Sadly his loyal owners Bob Allum and Lorna Hardwick were not in attendance but both were delighted with his performance having been in his ownership for the past five seasons – they have certainly stood the test of time, well done to them!
