Autumn Preparations

Posted on 12th September 2016

The evenings are beginning to get darker earlier and there is a hint of a chill in the air each morning. This can only mean one thing……the National Hunt season is only just around the corner and here at David Dennis Racing, preparations are well underway as the last of the Winter horses have come into training following their Summer holidays in the field.

All of the horses have done well throughout the Summer months and some of them have been in work for nearly two months now whilst others who were turned out late have only just begun their training. We have a lot of exciting horses to look forward to running this year with the likes of Wade Harper, Doctor Phoenix & Final Nudge having returned to work along with those who have been running well this Summer, Lostock Hall, Doitforjoe & Roman Flight.

Other names who have begun cantering away recently and we are looking forward to seeing back on the racecourse soon are Marquis Of Carabas, placed in the first four on all of his career starts to date and a winner over hurdles at Warwick in May, Crank Em Up, a winner of a bumper at Warwick in April, Seven Kingdoms, an easy winner of a juvenile hurdle at Kempton back in January and Brunel Woods who showed lots of promise when finishing 2nd in a bumper at Wincanton on his racecourse debut in April.

The building of our new 60 stable yard here at Tyre Hill Racing Stables is also progressing well with most of the external brickwork nearly complete now and we are very much looking forward to seeing the project finished this Autumn before the inclement Winter weather sets in.

There is plenty to look forward to at David Dennis Racing this season with some really lovely horses to run both National Hunt and also on the all-weather and we can’t wait to get underway!
