Warwick Sponsorship Day
Posted on 03rd May 2016
It was a great day for the David Dennis Racing team at Warwick yesterday (Monday May 1st) as we contributed to sponsoring the whole card of eight races along side the David Dennis Racing Club, Favourites Racing Syndication, Superdream and both Agility Fleet & Agility Risk & Compliance on what was a most successful day for owners & clients alike.
We had seven runners in total throughout the card with all of our team working very hard in order to ensure the smooth running of the day.
The first race of the day was not only sponsored by David Dennis Racing but was also our best result of the day in which Marquis Of Carabas landed the spoils for owners Favourites Racing under Brian Hughes. The Hurricane Run gelding was always travelling and jumping well throughout the race and it was great to see him win after finishing the closest of seconds last time out at Uttoxeter back in early April.
The second race of the day was the Agility Fleet Mares’ “National Hunt” Maiden Hurdle where our own Bitter Virtue owned by The Ferandlin Peaches ran a very pleasing race to finish 5th on her hurdling debut. Lucky Jim was our next runner of the day and he ran well for a long way before finishing 7th in the Superdream Clients Novices’ Handicap Chase.
The Big Dipper was next up in the Favourites Racing Syndication Handicap Hurdle for owners The Lucky Seven and he ran a great race to finish 4th in a competitive field of 18 runners. The Big Dipper was quickly followed up by Master Of The Game in the Join David Dennis Racing Club Handicap Chase for owners Mr & Mrs Paul & Clare Rooney but he unfortunately only made it as far as the first fence before parting company with Brian Hughes. Both horse & jockey were quickly to their feet and Brian was soon back on board in the next, this time on Hawdyerwheesht in the Agility Risk & Compliance Handicap Hurdle where after being up with the pace for a long way finished 7th, a pleasing effort after returning from a Winter break despite the rain beginning to get into the ground at this point.
We were without a runner for the first time during the day in the Superdream Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle (Div I) and this race was won in emphatic style by the Hugo Froud trained Dardanella.
Our final runner of the day in the Superdream Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle (Div II) was Dylan’s Storm who, still right there with every chance under yard conditional Gareth Malone after 4 out was unlucky in running to be badly hampered by an injured runner pulling across the track in front of him giving him no chance of recovery.
All in all it was a great day with all the horses that finished running pleasing races. We would like to thank all of those that joined us on the day and it was wonderful to see everyone having an enjoyable afternoon.
