Open Day Report
Posted on 04th October 2018
Last Sunday (30th September) saw David Dennis Racing open it’s gates to the public for only the second time within the last 4 years.
We were blessed with dry weather & although it turned a little chilly in the afternoon we were lucky not to experience any rain & everyone was able to enjoy the parade of horses outside.
Thirty Seven horses in training were paraded in total, not forgetting ‘Cracker’, David’s daughter Tilly’s pony who arguably stole the show, bringing the curtain down on the parade of horses.
All of our visitors were able to wander through the yard & meet the horses & all of the team members before enjoying the bar, hog roast & ice-cream van that were all on offer.
Highlights for many included tractor & trailer rides giving a behind the scenes tour of our 3 gallops as well as a swimming demonstration where it was Danecase who took to the water.
A good day was had by all & we estimate that between 400-500 visitors came to support us as well as raising over £800 for our local charity St Richard’s hospice who are currently fundraising for a new hospital extension which is due for completion in 2020.
