The Alamo Battles On Well For Success
Posted on 22nd July 2015
The Alamo has been one of two winners within the last seven days as the Summer horses continue to hit form.
The High Chaparral gelding was victorious at Ffos Las on Tuesday (21st July) in the Heineken Selling Stakes under a front running ride from Martin Lane.
The 4yo lead from the gates and despite the field challenging him from 2f out, The Alamo rallied gamely to maintain his lead and score by 3/4 length.
Retro Valley was in fine form on Saturday at Market Rasen when gaining his first win over obstacles on his hurdling debut in the Betfred “Racing’s Biggest Supporter” Juvenile Hurdle.
The 3yo by Vale Of York was given a confident ride by Noel Fehily to take up the running on the home turn and despite a couple of careful jumps at the final two flights, used his flat speed to assert readily and go on to win by 6 lengths.
He is sure to make into a very nice hurdler indeed.
Tomorrow we have Maller Tree and A Keen Sense staying local with a trip to Worcester whilst other entries are held at Uttoxeter on Friday (24th) and Sunday (26th) and at Newton Abbot and Windsor on Monday.
